Home life and Happy Horse Girl

Life is starting to gently settle into a new crazy rhythm in our house that is both beautiful and chaotic yet bumps along merrily. The boys are doing great with Juni and she adores them. Aidan makes her laugh and often helps out by keeping her entertained in the car. Sam is learning how to teach Juni how to share toys and tries to contain her giant-topple-him-over type hugs. Steve has gone back to work but also takes the boys to school three mornings a week, comes home to help at afternoon nap time and is home to play by 5:15 most nights. I'm mostly on maternity leave and I'm bit by bit figuring out the fine art of juggling three distinct ages with their three different needs and interests, school life, magically growing mountains of laundry and unending food demands. Good thing they're all cute and we are hopelessly in love.

Goofing around in Juni's room.

Hungry little urchins waiting for snack number 18,344.

I love flowers. There, I've said it. Northwestern Montana is ridiculously cold and gray during the long winter months so I love the burst of color in our home and the reminder that we won't always be buried in snow and ice. The first vase is from my lovely husband while the second shot is from the obviously bewitched flowers that my Dad was holding out for us when we stepped off the plane. I am currently staring at this giant gorgeous bouquet in my living room and it still looks perfectly fresh. We returned home two weeks ago tomorrow. I think these flowers are enchanted.

Now on to our tiny wee equestrian. Juni recently fell in love with horses thanks to her marvelous Grandma Jill. I see riding lessons in her future and hope we know someone fabulous to teach her a thing or two. Oh yeah, Grandma Jill! Of course you will have to teach the horse to play music and sing as well  because this is the part that makes Juni laugh in delight. Thank you so much for sharing this joyful toy!

Checking out the steed.

Deciding it was safe to climb on even though Mommy thought a riding helmet might be in order.

Talking gently to her pony before setting off.... giggling that is.

Look, ma. No hands. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Back to laughing hysterically.

By the next day, Juni was comfortable enough on her pretty pink pony to combine riding with talking on her cell phone.

But this is the best part. Juni is obviously a very smart girl. At age 15 months, she already fully understands the importance of the finer things in life, like enjoying her free time riding and chatting with her friends on the phone. She does all this while watching a man clean the house around her.
That's my girl!

Love to you all!
